When choosing a slat-only option, the measurement refers to the length of the fabric laid flat. The slat width is normally 89mm, which is the most common size and the one offered for most fabrics.

When ordering, check that your chosen fabric is the correct width. Always measure to the nearest centimetre and reduce both the height and the width by 1cm. Please note, do not make any other deductions.

If a Slat Is Not Available

  • Measure the full size required for your window.
  • Measure from the top of the track down to the point where you want the slat to finish.
  • The slat should end about 13mm above any obstruction, such as a sill or radiator.

Counting and Calculating the Number of Slats Needed

  • Count the slats already in place, or count the number of trucks on the headrail.
  • Enter the full number of slats required when placing your order.

Before fitting, check that you have all the parts supplied with your vertical blind.

Additional Equipment Required

  • 2 x top fix brackets
  • 2 x face fix brackets
  • 1 x set of hangers
  • 1 x Allen key
  • 2 x stabilising chains
  • 1 x safety hook
  • 4 x wood screws
  • 1 x bottom weight
  • A pencil
  • Screws
  • Drill with suitable bits
  • Crosshead screwdriver
  • Metal tape measure

Face Fix Installation

Position the brackets about 5cm from each end of the headrail location. If more than two brackets are provided, space the extras evenly along the length of the blind. Make sure the fixings used are suitable for the wall or surface you are attaching them to. To fit, hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it into place, and secure it by tightening the small screw at the front of the bracket.

Top Fix Installation

Measure and mark the position carefully, making sure to allow space for any obstructions such as window handles. Brackets should be placed around 10cm from each end of the headrail to ensure clearance. If more than two brackets are supplied, space the extras evenly across the length of the blind. Always check that the fixings are suitable for the surface. Tilt and hook the headrail into the bracket, rotate it until it clicks securely, and to remove it, press the release point on the bracket.
