Tools You Need for Measuring Vertical Blinds
Tips for Accurate Measuring
Outside Recess
Measure the exact area you want the blind to cover. To reduce light seepage, it is best if the blind overlaps the window recess by at least 70mm at the top and 50mm on each side.
The overlap at the bottom is a matter of choice, but be sure to consider obstacles such as radiators.
Always use a metal measuring tape, as fabric ones can bend or stretch and may give you incorrect results.
Inside Recess
If you prefer the blind to sit inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the recess space. Our team will make the necessary deductions to ensure the blind fits properly.
Take measurements in three places for both the width and the drop, then use the smallest measurement.
Do not make any deductions yourself, as this will be done for you to guarantee the best fit.
Again, always use a metal measuring tape for accuracy.
Before fitting, please make sure you have all the parts that are supplied with your vertical blind.
Additional Tools and Equipment You May Need:
Face Fix
Fit the brackets around 5cm from each end where the headrail is to be mounted. If more than two brackets are supplied, place the extra ones evenly along the blindβs length. Ensure the fixings you use are suitable for the wall or surface.
To install, hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate it into position. Secure it by tightening the small screw at the front of the bracket.
Top Fix
Measure and mark the points carefully, allowing space for obstructions such as window handles that extend into the recess. Place the brackets about 10cm from each end of where the headrail will sit, giving enough clearance for handles. If more than two brackets are included, fix the additional ones evenly across the blind. Ensure your fixings are suitable for the mounting surface.
Tilt and hook the headrail into the bracket, then rotate it until it clicks securely into place. To release the headrail, press the bracket at the release point.
