Slat Only Measurement

This refers to the length of the vertical blind fabric laid out flat. The standard width for a slat is 89mm, which is the most common size and the one offered with most fabrics.

When placing your order, make sure the fabric width is correct. Always measure to the nearest centimetre. Subtract 1cm from both the height and width when recording the size. Do not make any further deductions yourself.

If No Slat Is Available – Follow These Steps:

  • Measure the size you need directly at your window.
  • Measure from the track opening down to where you want the slat to end.
  • The slat should finish about 13mm above any obstruction such as a radiator or sill.

Counting and Ordering Slats

  • Count the number of existing slats or the number of trucks on your headrail.
  • When ordering, simply enter the total quantity required.

Before starting, make sure you have the following items that come with your vertical blind:

Extra Equipment Required:

  • 2 top fix brackets
  • 2 face fix brackets
  • 1 set of hangers
  • 1 Allen key
  • 2 stabilising chains
  • 1 safety hook
  • 4 wood screws
  • Weights as needed
  • A pencil
  • Screws
  • A drill with the right bits
  • A cross-head screwdriver
  • A steel tape measure

Face Fix

Place the brackets around 5cm from each end of the headrail position. If more than two brackets are supplied, spread the extra brackets evenly across the length of the blind. Ensure the fixings are suitable for the surface you are mounting to.

To install, hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it forward, then secure it by tightening the small screw at the front of the bracket.

Top Fix

Measure carefully and mark where the brackets will go, allowing for any obstacles such as window handles that extend into the recess. Position the brackets about 10cm from each end of the headrail, which will ensure clearance over handles. Extra brackets should be fitted evenly along the length of the blind. Make sure the fixings you use are appropriate for the wall or ceiling.

To fit, tilt the headrail into the bracket and rotate it until it clicks into place. To remove, press the release section on the bracket.
