TOOLS YOU WILL NEED TO MEASURE VERTICAL BLINDS:
TIPS FOR GETTING ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS:
Measure the total area you want the blind to cover. To stop light from leaking around the edges, allow the blind to extend at least 70mm above the recess and 50mm at each side.
The length at the bottom is your choice, but you should consider obstacles such as radiators.
Always use a steel tape measure, because fabric ones may bend or stretch and give incorrect readings.
Take this measurement if you want the blind to fit neatly inside the recess. Measure the full width and height of the space. The necessary deductions will be made for you so that the blind fits exactly.
Check three points across both the width and the height, and use the smallest of the measurements.
Do not make any adjustments yourself, as this will be done to ensure the blind sits correctly.
Again, use a steel tape measure to avoid inaccurate results.
Before starting, make sure you have all the items that come with your vertical blind.
EXTRA ITEMS YOU WILL NEED:
Fix the brackets about 5cm from both ends of where the headrail will sit. If you have more than two brackets, space the extras evenly along the rail. Make sure the wall or surface can take the fittings.
Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it into place, and tighten the small screw at the front to hold it securely.
Mark the positions carefully, allowing space for anything like window handles that stick into the recess. Place the brackets about 10cm from each end of the headrail. If extra brackets are supplied, fit them evenly across the length. Again, check the surface is suitable for fixing.
Tilt and hook the headrail into the bracket, rotate until it clicks into place, and to release it later, press the bracket release point.
