Roller Only Measurement

To fit the blind inside the window recess, you must measure the full width and height of the recess (wall to wall).

Inside Recess Measurement

Measure three points across the inside of the window recess – the top, middle, and bottom. Then take three vertical measurements – left, right, and centre.

Guide for Inside Recess Fitting

Use a steel tape measure for accurate results, noting measurements in centimetres to the nearest millimetre.

Record measurements in three places (both width and height), and use the smallest measurement when placing your order.

The factory will make the required deductions for “recess specified blinds” so that the blind fits neatly.

Check carefully for possible obstructions such as tiles, window handles, or rails, and measure around them to make sure the position is correct.

Outside Recess Measurement

When fitting the blind outside the window recess, we will make it exactly to the measurements you provide, with no deductions made.

Guide for Outside Recess Fitting

Measure the full area you want the blind to cover. To block out sunlight, we recommend adding an overlap of around 6cm on each side and 7cm above the window. Decide yourself whether you would like any overlap at the bottom.

Be cautious when measuring, and allow for obstacles such as tiles or rails to ensure the position is suitable.

Please choose one of the following fitting types:

  • Top mount: This is fixed to the ceiling or the top of the window recess.
  • Face mount: This is attached to the wall or face of the window frame.

Make sure the brackets are positioned so the blind operates freely without touching any handles, doors, or the window frame. Hold the blind with both brackets loosely in place inside the fitting area to find the best position before securing them.

Fit the control side bracket on the same side as the chain mechanism. Mark the spot for the first bracket, ensuring it is straight and level to avoid problems with operation. Drill holes and fix it securely, using raw plugs if fitting into a wall.

Insert one end of the blind into the mounted bracket. Next, place the second bracket at the other end, mark its position, and ensure it lines up evenly with the first. Drill holes and fix it into place, again using raw plugs if attaching to a wall.

Mounting the Blind

Insert the pin end of the blind into the bracket designed for it. The pin end has a spring-loaded function to make it easier to attach or remove. Then insert the control mechanism into the control-side bracket. The central lug on the control unit should point downward and lock into the bracket securely.

Operating the Blind

After installation, simply pull the chain at the side to raise or lower the blind.

P-Clip

The safety device must be fitted as far away as possible from the chain mechanism to stop the looped chain from going slack.

Ensure the control chain runs through the P-clip and that it is tight. The clip should sit at the bottom of the loop, allowing the chain to move smoothly. Screw the tensioning device to the wall so the chain remains taut and under constant tension.
