Measuring for Roller Only Fitting (Inside Recess)

To fit the blind inside the window recess, measure the complete width and height of the recessed space from wall to wall.

Inside Recess Measurements

Take three separate width measurements across the recess: one at the top, one in the middle, and one at the bottom of the window.

Then, take three height measurements: one on the left, one in the centre, and one on the right.

Guide for Inside Recess Fitting

Always use a steel tape measure to ensure accuracy, measuring in centimetres down to the nearest millimetre.

Use the smallest measurement for both the width and height when placing your order.

The factory will make the required reductions for blinds marked as β€œrecess specified” so that the blind fits neatly into position.

Be careful when taking measurements around possible obstructions such as tiles, handles, or rails to make sure the blind can be installed correctly.

Measuring for Outside Recess Fitting

When fitting a blind outside the recess, the blind will be produced exactly to the measurements you provide, without any reductions made.

Guide for Outside Recess Fitting

Measure the width of the area you want the blind to cover. To reduce sunlight coming in, we recommend an overlap of around 6 cm on each side and about 7 cm above the window.

Take care when measuring around any obstructions such as tiles or rails to ensure the blind is positioned accurately.

It is your choice whether you allow the blind to extend below the window.

Please decide which fitting style you would like:

Top Mount / Face Mount

  • Top mount: Fixing the brackets to an overhead surface such as the ceiling or the top of the window recess.
  • Face mount: Fixing the brackets directly onto the surface of the wall or window frame.

Position the brackets carefully so the blind can move freely without hitting handles, doors, or other parts of the window. Hold both brackets loosely on the blind and place them in the window space where the blind will sit. This helps you centre the blind and determine the best bracket position.

Place the control-side bracket on the same side as the chain control. Mark the position of the first bracket, ensuring it is level and straight. This is important because an uneven bracket can prevent smooth operation. Drill holes and secure the bracket firmly in place, using wall plugs if fixing to masonry.

Insert one end of the blind into the first mounted bracket. Then position the second bracket at the opposite end of the blind, marking its place so it lines up evenly with the first. Drill and fix the second bracket securely, again using wall plugs where necessary.

Mounting the Blind

Insert the pin end of the blind into the pin-side bracket. The spring-loaded pin allows for easier fitting and removal. Next, place the control mechanism into the opposite bracket. Ensure the central lug of the mechanism points downwards and fits into the bracket slot, hooking into position.

Operating the Blind

Once installed, use the side chain to raise or lower the blind smoothly.

Installing the P-Clip

The safety device must be positioned as far as possible from the control mechanism to prevent the looped chain from hanging loosely.

Make sure the chain runs through the P-clip so that it is tight. Position the clip at the bottom of the chain loop, ensuring the chain can move freely within it. Fix the tensioning device securely to the wall, aligned with the blind, to keep the chain under constant tension and prevent it from becoming slack.
