Take care not to confuse height and width measurements when recording them, as this could result in a blind that does not fit correctly. If you are measuring multiple windows, do not assume they are the same size. Measure each window individually, as even minor differences can affect the final fit.
Measure the full area where you want the blind to extend. To reduce light leakage, allow the blind to overlap at least 70mm above the window recess and 50mm on each side. The bottom overlap is optional but consider any obstacles, such as radiators. Always use a metal tape measure, as cloth tapes may stretch or bend and provide inaccurate readings.
If you want your blind to fit inside the window recess, measure the total width and height of the opening. We will make the necessary deductions to ensure a perfect fit.
Measure in three places for both width and drop, and use the smallest measurement. Do not make any deductions yourself, as this ensures the blind fits accurately. Always use a metal tape measure to avoid errors caused by stretching.
Before starting, ensure you have all items supplied with your blind.
For face fixing, position the brackets around 5cm from each end of the headrail. If extra brackets are provided, space them evenly along the length of the blind. Ensure that the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface being used.
Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate it into place. Secure it by tightening the short screw on the front of the bracket.
For top fixing, measure and mark the bracket positions to avoid obstructions such as window handles. Place the brackets approximately 10cm from each end to ensure clearance. Any extra brackets should be spaced evenly along the length of the blind. Make sure the fixings are suitable for the wall or ceiling surface.
Tilt the headrail into the bracket and rotate until it clicks securely. To remove the headrail, press the release point on the bracket.
