Tools you will need to measure your window:

  • Steel measuring tape
  • Pencil for marking and writing down measurements
  • Worksheet to record your numbers
  • Ladder (if the window is high)

Tips for accurate measurements:

  • Do not confuse height and width measurements. Writing them incorrectly can lead to a blind that does not fit.
  • If you are measuring multiple windows, do not assume they are the same size. Measure each window individually, as small differences can change the fit.

Outside Recess Measurements:

  • Measure the exact area where you want the blind to cover. To reduce light coming through, we suggest the blind overlaps the window by at least 70mm at the top and 50mm on each side.
  • The bottom overlap is up to you, but remember to consider obstacles like radiators.
  • Use a metal tape measure because cloth tapes can stretch and give incorrect results.

Inside Recess Measurements:

  • If you want the blind to fit inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the recess. We will make the necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect fit.
  • Measure three times for both width and height, and use the smallest measurements.
  • Do not make any deductions yourself; we will do this for you.
  • Use a metal tape measure to avoid errors from stretching.

Items included with your vertical blind:

  • Top fix brackets x2
  • Face fix brackets x2
  • Hangers x1
  • Allen key x1
  • Stabilising chains x2
  • Safety hook x1
  • Wood screws x4
  • Weight x1

Additional tools you will need:

  • Pencil
  • Screws
  • Drill with correct bits
  • Crosshead screwdriver
  • Metal tape measure

Face Fix Installation:

  • Place the brackets about 5cm from each end of where the headrail will go. If more than two brackets are included, space the extra brackets evenly along the blind. Make sure the fixings are suitable for your wall or surface.
  • Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate it into position. Secure it by tightening the small screw at the front of the bracket.

Top Fix Installation:

  • Measure and mark the position to allow for any obstacles, like window handles. Place the brackets about 10cm from the ends to avoid handles. If there are extra brackets, space them evenly along the blind. Ensure your fixings are suitable for the surface.
  • Tilt the headrail into the bracket and rotate it until it clicks into place. To remove it, press the bracket at the marked point.
