Guidelines for Accurate Measurements:
Measure the area that you want the blind to cover. To reduce light gaps, it is recommended that the blind overlaps the window recess by at least 70mm at the top and 50mm at each side.
The overlap at the bottom can be chosen to suit your preference, but you should consider any obstructions such as radiators. Always use a steel tape measure, as cloth tapes can stretch or bend, giving incorrect results.
If you would like the blind to fit inside the recess, measure the total width and height of the space. Adjustments will then be made during production to ensure the blind fits neatly.
Take three measurements across the width and three for the height, then use the smallest figures. Do not make any reductions yourself, as this will be done to achieve the correct fit. Again, use a steel tape measure for accuracy.
Check you have the following items included with your vertical blind:
Position the brackets about 5cm from each end of the headrail’s position. If more than two brackets are provided, fit the extras at equal spacing across the blind’s length. Make sure the fixings are secure and suitable for the wall or surface.
To attach, hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate into place, and tighten the small screw at the front of the bracket to lock it securely.
Measure and mark carefully, leaving clearance for window handles or any other obstructions. Place the brackets roughly 10cm from the ends of where the headrail will sit. This ensures the blind clears any handles. If additional brackets are supplied, space them evenly across the headrail. Always check the fixings are right for the surface.
Tilt and hook the headrail into the bracket, rotate it until it clicks into place, and secure it firmly. To remove the headrail, press the release point on the bracket.
