Measure the area where you want the blind to cover. To reduce light gaps, the blind should overlap the window recess by at least 70mm at the top and 50mm on each side.
The bottom overlap is optional, but consider obstacles such as radiators. Always use a metal tape measure, as cloth tapes can stretch and give inaccurate results.
For a blind that fits inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the recess. The manufacturer will make the necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect fit.
Take measurements in three places for both width and drop, and use the smallest measurement. Do not make any deductions yourself. Always use a metal tape measure for accuracy.
Before starting, check that you have all the parts supplied with your vertical blind.
Place the brackets about 5cm from each end of the headrail. If more than two brackets are provided, space the remaining ones evenly along the length. Make sure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface.
Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it into place, and secure by tightening the short screw at the front.
Measure and mark positions carefully to allow for obstacles like window handles. Place the brackets around 10cm from each end of the headrail. Space any additional brackets evenly along the length. Ensure fixings are suitable for the wall or surface.
Tilt the headrail and hook it into the bracket, then rotate until it clicks into position. To remove it, press the bracket at the release point.
