Tips for accurate measurements:
Outside Recess
Measure the area you want the blind to cover. To reduce light gaps, allow the blind to overlap the recess by at least 70mm at the top and 50mm on each side. The bottom overlap can be chosen according to your preference, but take obstacles like radiators into account. Use a metal tape measure, as cloth tapes may stretch or bend and give inaccurate measurements.
Inside Recess
For a blind that fits inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the opening. Take measurements in three places for both width and drop, and use the smallest measurement. Do not make any deductions yourself, as the correct adjustments will be applied to ensure a perfect fit. Always use a metal tape measure for accuracy.
Ensure you have all the components supplied with the blind:
Face Fix
Place the brackets about 5cm from each end of the headrail. If more than two brackets are supplied, space the additional brackets evenly along the length of the blind. Ensure fixings are suitable for the wall or surface. Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it into place, and tighten the small screw at the front to secure it.
Top Fix
Measure carefully and mark space for any obstacles such as window handles. Position the brackets about 10cm from each end of the headrail. If more than two brackets are supplied, space the additional brackets evenly along the length of the blind. Ensure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface. Tilt the headrail into the bracket, rotate until it clicks, and to remove, press the bracket to release it.
