When you choose the slat only option, the measurement will include only the length of the vertical blind fabric when laid flat. The standard width of each slat is normally 89mm, which is the most commonly used size and is offered for most fabrics.

When placing an order, always check that the fabric you select is in the correct width. Measure to the nearest centimetre and then reduce 1cm from both the width and the drop. Do not make any further deductions yourself.

If No Slats Are Available

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Measure the space at your window for the blind.
  2. Measure from the track opening down to the point where you want the slat to finish.
  3. Ensure the slat ends about 13mm above any obstruction, such as a window sill or radiator.

Counting and Ordering the Correct Number of Slats

  • Count the existing slats or the number of carriers (trucks) on your headrail.
  • Enter the total number required when placing your order.

Please make sure the following items are included with your vertical blind:

  • 2 x top fix brackets
  • 2 x face fix brackets
  • 1 x set of hangers
  • 1 x allen key
  • 2 x stabilising chains
  • 1 x safety hook
  • 4 x wood screws
  • 1 x weight
  • A pencil
  • Screws
  • Drill with the right drill bits
  • Cross-head screwdriver
  • Metal tape measure

Face Fix

Position the brackets about 5cm from each end of the headrail. If more than two brackets are provided, place the extra brackets evenly along the length of the blind. Make sure the fixings you use are suitable for the type of wall or surface where the blind is being attached.

To fit, hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate it into place. Secure the headrail by tightening the short screw located at the front of the bracket.

Top Fix

Measure and mark the section where the brackets will be placed, ensuring enough clearance for window handles or any other fittings that stick out. Position the brackets roughly 10cm from each end of the headrail so that the window handle can open freely. If more than two brackets are provided, place the extra ones evenly across the full length of the blind. Always check that the fixings you use are suitable for the wall or surface.

Tilt the headrail into the bracket and rotate it until you hear a click to secure it in place. To remove the headrail, press the release point on the bracket.
