To fit the blind inside a window recess, you need to measure the full width and height of the recessed area from wall to wall.

How to Measure Inside the Recess

Take three width measurements across the inside of the window recess: one at the top, one in the middle, and one at the bottom. Then take three height measurements: one on the left, one in the centre, and one on the right.

Guide for Fitting Inside Recess Blinds

Use a steel tape measure to get exact measurements in centimetres to the nearest millimetre. Measure in three different places for both width and height, and use the smallest measurement when placing your order.

The factory will make any necessary deductions for blinds ordered as “recess specified” to ensure they fit perfectly. Take care when measuring, particularly around obstacles such as tiles, window handles, or rails, to ensure the position is accurate.

Measuring for Outside Recess

To fit the blind outside the window recess, the blind will be made exactly to the measurements you provide, with no deductions.

Decide the area you want the blind to cover. To reduce sunlight glare, we recommend an overlap of approximately 6 cm on each side and 7 cm at the top of the window. Measure the full width of this area carefully.

Be careful when measuring, as obstacles such as tiles or rails may affect accuracy. You may also choose whether to include an overlap at the bottom of the window.

The blinds come with all the necessary fittings for easy installation. For inside recess fitting, the blind is placed within the window frame. For outside recess fitting, the blind is fixed over the window on the wall or frame. Always double-check your measurements before starting installation, and follow the instructions carefully to ensure the blind is fitted safely and securely.
