Tools You Will Need:

  • Steel measuring tape
  • Pencil for marking and noting measurements
  • Worksheet to record your measurements
  • Ladder (if required for tall windows)

Tips for Accurate Measuring:

  • Do not confuse height and width measurements, as this may result in a blind that does not fit.
  • If measuring multiple windows, do not assume they are the same size. Measure each one individually, as even small differences can affect the final fit.

Outside Recess Measurements:

  • Measure the exact area you want the blind to cover. To reduce light gaps, it is recommended that the blind extends at least 70mm above the recess and 50mm on each side.
  • The bottom overlap can be chosen according to personal preference, but consider obstacles like radiators.
  • Always use a metal tape measure. Cloth tapes can stretch or bend and give inaccurate results.

Inside Recess Measurements:

  • Measure the full width and height of the window recess if you want the blind to fit inside. The necessary deductions will be made to ensure a perfect fit.
  • Measure three times for both width and drop and use the smallest measurement.
  • Do not make deductions yourself; the manufacturer will adjust the blind for precise fitting.
  • Use a metal tape measure for accuracy.

Items Included with Your Blind:

  • Top fix brackets x2
  • Face fix brackets x2
  • Hangers x1
  • Allen key x1

Additional Equipment You Will Need:

  • Pencil
  • Screws
  • Drill with correct bits
  • Crosshead screwdriver
  • Metal tape measure

Face Fix Installation:

  • Position the brackets around 5cm from each end of the headrail. If more than two brackets are supplied, space the extra ones evenly along the blind. Ensure that fixings are suitable for the wall or surface.
  • Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate it into position. Secure it by tightening the short screw at the front of the bracket.

Top Fix Installation:

  • Measure and mark positions, allowing for obstacles like window handles that extend into the recess. Place the brackets approximately 10cm from each end to avoid handles. If more than two brackets are supplied, fit extra brackets evenly along the blind. Ensure the fixings are suitable for the wall or ceiling.
  • Tilt the headrail into the bracket and rotate it until it clicks into place. To remove, press the bracket at the release point.
