Inside Recess Measurement

To fit a blind inside a window recess, measure the full width and height of the recess from wall to wall.

  1. Measure the width at three points – top, middle, and bottom of the window.
  2. Measure the height at three points – left, right, and centre.
  3. Use a steel tape measure for accurate results in centimetres, to the nearest millimetre.
  4. Use the smallest measurement for your order to ensure the blind fits perfectly.
  5. The factory will make any necessary deductions for blinds specified for recess fitting.
  6. Take care to measure around obstacles like tiles, handles, or rails to ensure accuracy.

Outside Recess Measurement

For blinds fitted outside the recess, provide exact measurements for the area you want to cover. No deductions will be made.

  • To block sunlight effectively, we recommend an overlap of 6 cm on each side and 7 cm at the top of the window.
  • Be careful of obstacles such as tiles and rails when measuring.
  • Overlap at the bottom of the window is optional.

Choose the type of fitting:

Top Mount – fit the blind to an overhead surface, such as the top of the window recess or ceiling.

Face Mount – fit the blind to the outside face of the window frame.

Fitting Instructions:

  1. Position the brackets to allow the blind to operate freely, avoiding interference with handles or windows.
  2. Loosely attach both brackets to the blind and place it in the window to help centre it accurately.
  3. Position the control-side bracket on the same side as the chain control mechanism. Ensure it is level and not twisted. Drill holes and secure with raw plugs if fixing to a wall.
  4. Insert one side of the blind into its bracket. Position the other bracket at the opposite end, ensuring it is level, then drill and secure it in place.

Mounting the Blind

  • Insert the pin side of the blind into the pin-side bracket. The pin end has a spring mechanism for easy mounting and removal.
  • Insert the control mechanism into the control-side bracket. The central lug should point downwards and hook securely into the bracket.

Operating the Blind

  • Once installed, use the side chain to raise or lower the blind.

P-Clip Installation

  • Install the P-clip as far as possible from the control mechanism to keep the looper chain tight.
  • Ensure the control chain passes inside the P-clip, which should sit at the bottom of the loop.
  • Screw the tensioning device to the wall to keep the chain tight and under constant tension. This will allow smooth operation at all times.
