A slat-only measurement means the length of the vertical blind fabric when it is laid flat. The width of each slat is usually 89mm, which is the most common size, and most of our fabrics are available in this width.

When placing your order, please make sure the fabric you choose is the correct width. Take measurements to the nearest centimetre, then reduce both the height and width by 1cm. Do not make any further deductions yourself.

If Slats Are Not Available – Follow These Steps:

  • Measure the required size directly from your window.
  • Measure from the headrail track down to the point where you want the slat to end.
  • The slat should finish about 13mm above any obstruction, such as a radiator or window sill.

Counting and Ordering the Right Number of Slats:

  • Count the number of existing slats or the number of carriers (trucks) on your headrail.
  • When ordering, enter the total number of slats you need.

Please check that the following items are included with your vertical blind:

Additional Tools and Items You Will Need:

  • 2 top fix brackets
  • 2 face fix brackets
  • 1 set of hangers
  • 1 Allen key
  • 2 stabilising chains
  • 1 safety hook
  • 4 wood screws
  • 1 bottom weight
  • A pencil
  • Extra screws if needed
  • A drill with suitable drill bits
  • A crosshead screwdriver
  • A metal tape measure

Face Fix Fitting

  • Position the brackets about 5cm in from each end of where you want the headrail to be fixed.
  • If more than 2 brackets are provided, install the extras evenly across the full length of the blind.
  • Make sure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface you are attaching the brackets to.
  • To fit, hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate the rail into place, then secure it by tightening the small screw at the front of the bracket.

Top Fix Fitting

  • Measure and mark carefully to allow for anything that may obstruct the fitting, such as window handles that extend into the recess.
  • Place the brackets around 10cm in from each end of the headrail, so that the rail clears the handle of the window opener.
  • If more than 2 brackets are supplied, fit the extra brackets at even intervals across the blind.
  • Check that the fixings are correct for the surface you are attaching them to.
  • To install, tilt and hook the headrail into the bracket, then rotate it into position until it clicks into place.
  • To remove the rail, press the release point on the bracket and lift it free.
