Inside Window Recess

To fit the blind inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the recess, from wall to wall.

How to Measure

  • Take three width measurements: at the top, middle, and bottom of the recess.
  • Take three height measurements: on the left, in the centre, and on the right.
  • Use a steel tape measure and record in centimetres to the nearest millimetre.
  • Always use the smallest measurement when placing your order.
  • The factory will make any necessary deductions for recess-specified blinds to ensure a perfect fit.
  • Be careful around obstructions such as tiles, handles, or rails to ensure accurate measurement.

Outside Window Recess

For blinds fitted outside the window recess, we will make them to the exact measurements you specify with no deductions.

Guide for Outside Recess Fitting

  • To block sunlight effectively, allow an overlap of 6cm on each side and 7cm at the top.
  • Measure the exact width of the area you want to cover.
  • Take care around obstructions such as tiles, handles, or rails to ensure correct placement.
  • Overlap at the bottom is optional and can be adjusted to your preference.

Please select a mounting option:

  • Top Mount: Fixed to the top of the window recess or ceiling.
  • Face Mount: Fixed to the outside face of the window frame.

When positioning brackets, ensure the blind can operate freely and does not touch handles or other obstructions. Loosely place both brackets on the blind and hold it in the window to check alignment. This helps to centre the blind accurately.

Fit the control side bracket on the same side as the chain control mechanism. Mark its position, making sure it is level and not twisted, as an uneven bracket will prevent proper operation. Drill holes and secure them with raw plugs if attached to a wall.

Insert one end of the blind into the mounted bracket. Place the second bracket at the other end, mark it level with the first, then drill and secure it in place.

Mounting the Blind

  • Insert the pin side of the blind into the pin-side bracket. The spring mechanism allows easy mounting and removal.
  • Place the control mechanism into the control-side bracket. The central lug should point downwards and hook securely into the bracket.

Operating the Blind

  • Use the side chain to raise and lower the blind once installed.

Using the P-Clip

  • Install the P-clip as far from the control mechanism as possible to avoid slack in the looped chain.
  • Ensure the control chain passes through the P-clip and remains tight. The clip should be at the bottom of the loop so the chain moves smoothly.
  • Fix the tensioning device to the wall to keep the chain under constant tension. This keeps the chain tight and ensures the blind operates correctly.
