When measuring for slat replacements only, the size will include the length of the vertical blind fabric when laid flat. The width of each slat is generally 89mm, which is the most common size and the width available for most fabrics we supply.
When placing your order, check that the fabric you select is the correct width. Measurements should be taken to the nearest centimetre. For the height and width, deduct 1cm from the total size. Do not make any other deductions.
If Slats Are Not Available – Follow These Steps:
Calculating the Number of Slats Required:
Check that you have received the following parts with your vertical blind:
Face Fixing
Mark the position for the brackets approximately 5cm from both ends of the headrail position. If more than two brackets are supplied, space them evenly across the blind for proper support. Ensure the fixings you use are suitable for the surface you are attaching to. Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, then rotate it forward into place. Secure the headrail by tightening the small screw located at the front of the bracket.
Top Fixing
Measure and mark the positions carefully, allowing for any obstructions such as window handles that may extend into the recess. Place the brackets around 10cm from each end of the headrail position, making sure this clears the window handle. If more than two brackets are included, fit the extras at equal intervals across the blind length. Ensure that the fixings are appropriate for the wall or surface type. Hook the headrail into the bracket and rotate it until it clicks into place. To remove the headrail, press the bracket at the release point.
