When measuring slats only, the length is taken from the fabric of the vertical blind while it is laid flat. The width of the slat is normally 89mm, which is the most common size and the one offered for most of our fabrics.

When placing your order, check that the fabric you select is the correct width. Measure to the nearest centimetre, then reduce the height and width by 1cm. Please do not make any deductions yourself.

If No Slat Is Available:

  1. Measure the required size at your window.
  2. Take the measurement from the track opening down to the point where you want the slat to finish.
  3. The slat should stop about 13mm above any obstruction, such as a window sill or radiator.

Count and Calculate the Number of Slats Needed

  • Count the slats you already have, or the number of carriers on your headrail.
  • Enter the total quantity required when placing your order.

Please make sure you have the following items that come with your vertical blind:

Extra tools and equipment needed for fitting:

  • 2 top fix brackets
  • 2 face fix brackets
  • 1 set of hangers
  • 1 Allen key
  • 2 lengths of stabilising chain
  • 1 safety hook
  • 4 wood screws
  • 1 weight
  • A pencil
  • Additional screws
  • Drill with correct drill bits
  • Cross-head screwdriver
  • Metal tape measure

Face Fix Fitting

Place the brackets about 5cm in from each end of where the headrail will be positioned. If more than two brackets are supplied, fix the additional ones evenly across the full length of the blind. Make sure the fixings used are suitable for the type of wall or surface.

To attach, hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate it into place. Secure the headrail by tightening the small screw at the front of the bracket.

Top Fix Fitting

Measure and mark the position, making sure to allow space for any handles or parts that stick into the recess. Position the brackets around 10cm from each end of where the headrail will be fixed, so that the blind clears the window handle. If more than two brackets are supplied, add the rest at even distances along the headrail. Ensure the fixings are right for the surface you are attaching them to.

To fit, tilt the headrail and hook it into the bracket at the marked point. Rotate it into position until you hear a click. To release the headrail, press the bracket at the same point.
