When measuring slats only, the size given will be the length of the blind fabric as it lies flat. The standard width for a slat is 89mm, which is the most commonly used size and the one we provide across most of our fabric options.

When ordering, confirm that your chosen fabric matches the required width. Measurements should be taken to the nearest centimetre, then deduct 1cm from both the height and the width. Please do not make any further deductions yourself.

If No Slat Is Available, Please Follow These Steps:

  • Measure the space at your window to determine the correct size required.
  • Measure from the track opening down to the point where you want the slat to finish.
  • Ensure the slat ends approximately 13mm above any obstruction, such as a radiator or window sill.

Counting and Calculating the Number of Slats Required:

  • Count the slats currently in place or the number of trucks on the headrail.
  • When ordering, type in the total quantity required.

Before starting, ensure the following items are included with your vertical blind:

  • 2 top fix brackets
  • 2 face fix brackets
  • 1 hanger
  • 1 Allan key
  • 2 stabilising chains
  • 1 safety hook
  • 4 wood screws
  • 1 weight
  • A pencil
  • Screws
  • A drill with the correct drill bits
  • A crosshead screwdriver
  • A metal tape measure

Face Fix

Brackets should be positioned around 5cm in from both ends of the headrail. If more than two brackets are supplied, install the extra brackets evenly along the length of the blind. Always make sure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface where they are being mounted.

To fit, hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, then rotate the rail into position. Tighten the small screw at the front of the bracket to secure the headrail firmly in place.

Top Fix

Begin by measuring and marking the area carefully, making sure to allow for any obstructions such as handles that may extend into the recess. Place the brackets about 10cm in from both ends of the headrail so they clear the window handle. If more than two brackets are included, space the additional ones equally across the blind’s length. Check that all fixings are appropriate for the chosen mounting surface.

To install, tilt the headrail into the bracket and rotate it until it clicks securely. To remove the headrail, press the bracket release point and gently pull the rail free.
