For Roller Blinds Only

Inside the Window Recess

To fit a blind inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the recess, from wall to wall.

How to Measure

  • Take three width measurements: top, middle, and bottom of the recess.
  • Take three height measurements: left, centre, and right of the recess.
  • Use a steel tape measure and record measurements in centimetres to the nearest millimetre.
  • Use the smallest measurement when placing your order.
  • The factory will make any necessary deductions to ensure recess-specified blinds fit perfectly.
  • Be careful when measuring around obstacles such as tiles, handles, or rails to ensure accuracy.

Outside the Window Recess

For blinds fitted outside the window recess, we will make the blind to your exact measurements with no deductions.

Guide for Outside Fitting

  • To block sunlight effectively, we recommend an overlap of 6cm on each side and 7cm at the top of the window.
  • Measure the exact width of the area you want to cover.
  • Be careful around obstructions such as tiles or rails to ensure the blind fits accurately.
  • Overlap at the bottom of the window is optional.

Please choose one of the following mounting options:

  • Top Mount: Fixed to the top of the window recess or the ceiling.
  • Face Mount: Fixed to the outside face of the window frame.

When fitting the brackets, make sure the blind can move freely and does not touch handles or other window fittings. Loosely place both brackets on the blind and hold it in position in the window. This will help you see exactly where the brackets should go and make it easier to centre the blind.

Place the control side bracket on the same side as the chain control mechanism. Mark its position, ensuring it is level and straight. Drill holes and secure the bracket with raw plugs if fitting to a wall.

Insert one end of the blind into the mounted bracket. Position the second bracket at the other end, mark it level with the first, and fix it in place with screws and raw plugs if needed.

Mounting the Blind

  • Insert the pin side of the blind into the pin-side bracket. This end has a spring mechanism to make mounting and removal easier.
  • Place the control mechanism into the control-side bracket. The central lug should point downwards and hook securely into the bracket.

Operating the Blind

  • Use the side chain to raise and lower the blind once it is installed.

Using the P-Clip

  • Install the P-clip as far from the control mechanism as possible to prevent slack in the chain loop.
  • Ensure the control chain runs inside the P-clip and stays tight. The clip should be positioned at the bottom of the loop so the chain moves smoothly.
  • Secure the tensioning device to the wall to maintain constant tension. This will keep the chain permanently tight and allow the blind to operate correctly.
