Inside Window Recess

To fit a blind inside a window recess, you must measure the full width and height of the recess from wall to wall.

How to Measure

  • Take three width measurements: at the top, middle, and bottom of the window recess.
  • Take three height measurements: on the left, in the centre, and on the right side.
  • Use a steel tape measure and record measurements in centimetres to the nearest millimetre.
  • Use the smallest measurement for ordering to ensure the blind fits perfectly.
  • The factory will make any deductions needed for recess-specified blinds.
  • Be careful of obstructions like tiles, handles, or rails to ensure accurate measurements.

Outside Window Recess

For blinds fitted outside the window recess, we will make them to the exact measurements you provide without any deductions.

Guide for Outside Recess Fitting

  • To block sunlight effectively, we recommend an overlap of 6cm on each side and 7cm at the top of the window.
  • Measure the exact width of the area you want to cover.
  • Take care around obstacles such as tiles, rails, or handles to ensure correct positioning.
  • Overlap at the bottom is optional and can be adjusted according to your preference.

Please select your preferred mounting option:

  • Top Mount: Attach to the top of the window recess or ceiling.
  • Face Mount: Attach to the outer face of the window frame.

When positioning the brackets, ensure the blind can operate freely without touching door handles or other obstacles. Loosely place both brackets on the blind and hold it in position to see where they will fit. This will help you centre the blind correctly.

Attach the control side bracket on the same side as the chain mechanism. Mark its position carefully, making sure it is level and not twisted, as an uneven bracket will prevent the blind from working properly. Drill holes and secure the bracket with raw plugs if attaching to a wall.

Insert one end of the blind into the mounted bracket. Place the other bracket on the opposite end, mark its position level with the first, then drill holes and secure it.

Mounting the Blind

  • Insert the pin side of the blind into the pin-side bracket. The spring mechanism allows easy installation and removal.
  • Insert the control mechanism into the control-side bracket. The central lug should point downwards and hook into the bracket securely.

Operating the Blind

  • Use the side chain to raise and lower the blind after installation.

Using the P-Clip

  • Install the P-clip as far from the control mechanism as possible to prevent slack in the looped chain.
  • Ensure the chain passes through the P-clip, remains tight, and moves smoothly.
  • Fix the tensioning device to the wall, end-to-end with the blind, so the chain stays under constant tension. This keeps the blind operating correctly at all times.
