For Roller Blinds Only

Inside the Window Recess

To fit your blind inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the recess, from wall to wall.

How to Measure

  • Take three width measurements: at the top, middle, and bottom of the recess.
  • Take three height measurements: on the left, in the centre, and on the right.
  • Use a steel tape measure for accuracy, and measure in centimetres to the nearest millimetre.
  • Always use the smallest measurement when ordering.
  • The factory will make any deductions needed for recess-specified blinds so that they fit perfectly.
  • Be careful to measure around any obstructions such as tiles, handles, or rails.

Outside the Window Recess

For blinds fitted outside the window recess, we will make them to your exact measurements with no deductions.

Guide for Outside Fitting

  • To reduce sunlight glare, allow an overlap of 6cm on each side and 7cm at the top of the window.
  • Measure the full width of the area you want covered.
  • Take care around obstructions like tiles or rails to ensure accuracy.
  • Adding an overlap at the bottom of the window is optional and your choice.

Please choose one of the following fitting methods:

  • Top Mount: Fitted to the top of the window recess or ceiling.
  • Face Mount: Fitted to the outside face of the window frame.

When positioning brackets, make sure the blind can operate freely without touching handles or other fittings. Place the brackets loosely on the blind and hold it in the fitting position to check alignment. This helps to centre the blind accurately before fixing.

Fit the control side bracket on the same side as the chain mechanism. Mark the position, ensuring it is level and straight, as twisting will stop the blind from working properly. Drill holes and secure with raw plugs if fitting to a wall.

Insert one end of the blind into the mounted bracket. Position the second bracket on the other side of the blind, mark it level with the first, then drill and fix it into place.

Mounting the Blind

  • Insert the pin side of the blind into the pin-side bracket. This end has a spring mechanism for easy fitting and removal.
  • Place the control mechanism into the control-side bracket. The central lug should point downward and lock into the cross-section of the bracket.

Operating the Blind

  • Once installed, use the side chain to raise and lower the blind.

Using the P-Clip

  • Install the P-clip as far as possible from the control mechanism to stop the looped chain becoming slack.
  • Make sure the chain passes through the P-clip and is held tight. The clip should sit at the bottom of the chain loop.
  • Screw the tensioning device to the wall to keep the chain under constant tension. This ensures the chain stays tight and operates safely at all times.
