Tools You Will Need to Measure Your Windows

  • A steel measuring tape
  • A pencil for marking and noting measurements

Tips for Accurate Measurement

  • Do not confuse the height and width measurements. Mixing them up can lead to a blind that does not fit.
  • If measuring multiple windows, do not assume they are the same size. Measure each window separately and record its measurements, as even small differences can affect the fit.

Outside Recess Measurement

  • Measure the area you want the blind to cover. To reduce light gaps, we recommend the blind overlaps the window recess by at least 70mm at the top and 50mm on each side.
  • The bottom overlap is your choice, but check for obstacles like radiators.
  • Always use a metal tape measure, as fabric tapes can stretch or bend, giving inaccurate results.

Inside Recess Measurement

  • Use this method if you want the blind to fit within the window recess. Measure the full width and height of the recess. We will make the necessary deductions to ensure the blind fits perfectly.
  • Measure three times across both the width and drop, and use the smallest measurements.
  • Do not make any deductions yourself; we will adjust for a perfect fit.
  • Use a metal tape measure for accuracy.

Face Fix Installation

  • Position the brackets approximately 5cm from each end where the headrail will sit. If more than two brackets are supplied, space any extra brackets evenly across the blind’s length. Ensure the fixings are suitable for your wall or mounting surface.
  • Hook the back of the headrail into the brackets and rotate it into place. Secure the headrail by tightening the short screw at the front of the bracket.

Top Fix Installation

  • Measure and mark positions carefully, allowing for obstacles such as window handles. Position the brackets about 10cm from the ends of the headrail to avoid clashes with window handles. If more than two brackets are provided, space the remaining brackets evenly along the blind’s length. Ensure fixings are appropriate for your wall or ceiling surface.
  • Tilt and hook the headrail into the brackets, then rotate it until it clicks. To remove the headrail, press the bracket at the designated point.
