Measure the exact area where you want the blind to cover. To reduce light gaps, the blind should overlap the recess by at least 70mm at the top and 50mm on each side.
The bottom overlap is a personal choice, but remember to consider obstacles such as radiators.
Use a metal tape measure rather than a cloth one, as fabric tapes can stretch or bend and give inaccurate measurements.
If you want your blind to fit inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the opening. We will make the correct deductions to ensure a perfect fit.
Take measurements in three different places for both width and drop, and use the smallest number.
Do not make any reductions yourself; we will do that to guarantee an exact fit.
Always use a metal tape measure for accuracy.
Before starting, make sure you have all the items supplied with your blind.
Position the brackets about 5cm from each end of the headrail. If more than two brackets are included, space the others evenly along the length. Make sure the fixings are suitable for your wall or surface.
Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate it into position. Secure it by tightening the small screw at the front of the bracket.
Mark where the brackets will go, leaving space for handles or other obstacles that stick into the recess. Place the brackets around 10cm from each end of the headrail so window handles can open freely. If you have extra brackets, space them evenly along the rail. Ensure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface.
Tilt the headrail into the bracket, then rotate it until it clicks into place. To remove the headrail, push the bracket at the marked point.
